Let’s just get to the point. Kelly Coombs’s lead performance in Hale Centre Theatre’s Daddy Long Legs is towering. One of the best I’ve seen in a long time. Coombs gave a perfect performance, and there is nothing that could improve it. She looked ready to handle a leading role on any stage in the country. Every line reading, note and movement were beyond reproach. To hear a sentence from her as Jerusha is to experience a successful character study. She was pugnacious, spunky and irrepressible. And what a voice! Early in the first act, I sat back in my chair in amazement as she performed a vocal trill while leaping down a stairway. She sang pure, beautifully and magnificently.

Coombs, reminiscent of a young Kristin Chenoweth, plays the role of Corie Bratter in a delightfully bubbly and giddy manner, never missing a beat. Her energy is contagious and carries the first act of the show. As the show progresses, her character becomes quite mean and bitter, though Coombs is still able to easily fit these different personalities into the guise of one multi-dimensional character.

Veteran Utah actress, Kelly Coombs is excellent with a guileless smile and charm.

Kelly Coombs is delightfully nutty as Ado Annie Carnes.
— Tyler Hinton, Broadway World
There is no question about it – the scene stealer of the show was Kelly Coombs, who portrayed the fantastically girly, dim-witted but boy lovin’ Ado Annie. I found myself waiting for her to return to the stage, wondering what new quirks she would be bringing next.

Coombs’ portrayal of Rapunzel was youthful without becoming whiny, and her voice was perfectly suited to the score.
— Andrea Fife, UTBA
Kelly Coombs is a knockout as the lovely diva Janet Van de Graaf. She has a lilting nightingale soprano that can belt with the best of them.
— Blair Howell, UTBA
The appealing Coombs and the zippy Ramsey display vocal prowess and fine comic acting skills. They are a bundle of droll enthusiasm in ‘Follow Your Heart.
— Blair Howell, Broadway World
As Christine Colgate, Kelly Coombs is the anchor of the show. Coombs handles the role effortlessly because she is an energetic dynamo with pizazz to spare.
